Lulu came to us with a broken leg… really broken! This little girl (she weigths 15 pounds) was matted, full of ticks… it was so bad her skin was all blistered from the parasites… a total mess! Luckily she didn’t seem to be in pain but we needed to do something about that leg!
And so we did… we found the best surgeon and got her in for surgery before Christmas! And what a Christmas miracle she was! The break was a bit old and she had been about 2 or 3 weeks in the streets like that… so now, while the srugery went very well, it is our job to get her to recover the muscles and the mobility on that leg… and that’s exactly what we are doing! Lulu is still working on getting better but we expect her to do a full recovery…
Lulu is very well behaved, which has made her recovery time easier as she is crated for long hours to restrain movement. She is great on the leash, and she is incredibly responsive to her humans, whom she loves dearly… She walks by your side and looks up constantly asking for cues… oh boy… she enjoys it when we can her a good girl! And she totally is!
Lulu is the sweetest patient we have had, and she will make a fantastic pet one day… for now, we are focused on getting her healthy!
