Visit the Shelter

Come meet the dogs, see how Oasis runs day-to-day, and spend a few hours helping in ways that actually matter.

Our shelter is located in CANCUN. While we continue our rescue work on Isla Mujeres, with the local govt withdrawing the already little support they had given us after over 20 years of taking care of the dog population, we could no longer afford housing our animals on Isla.

Visits are by appointment only. We want to make sure we are here when you come visit. We live on-site with all the animals, but we also do everything else, from taking dogs to the vet, to buying food and everything in between.

What a visit usually looks like?

Meeting the dogs and visiting the different areas in the shelter.

Helping with simple tasks like refilling water, sorting supplies, picking up poo, sweeping, prepping enrichment.

If you feel like it, we always welcome help bathing the dogs, socializing, teaching them to walk on a leash, or even taking on different projects around the shelter.

Good to know before you book

Visits usually happen between 10:00am and 4:00pm.

The system lets you book for an hour, but you’re welcome to stay longer if you’d like.

Groups of 8+ are totally possible — we just need advance notice

Kids are welcome, but they need to be supervised the whole time

What to bring?

Clothes that can get dirty, avoid shoelaces, water, sunscreen, and a sense of humour. You will probably leave with paw prints all over you. That’s normal.
