What we do

Spay & Neuter Programs

Reducing the problem, one surgery at a time.

We run ongoing sterilization programs to reduce overpopulation at its source, preventing countless animals from being born into situations of neglect, illness, and suffering.

One unspayed female dog and her offspring can lead to tens of thousands of puppies over a few years without intervention. With about 20 million dogs living in the streets of Mexico, our Spay & Neuter Program is of vital importance.

Rescue • Rehabilitate • Rehome

We may not be able to change the world. But we can change their world.

We respond to the cases others pass by — injured dogs, sick puppies, frightened strays, the forgotten souls roaming alone in the streets — and we follow through with the care they need: medical treatment, rehabilitation, behavior work, and placement in homes that really want them and can offer them the life we dream for them.

Community Outreach & Education

Change beings at home

We don’t just treat animals — we work with the people who care for them, their owners and families. Health, behavior, respect, responsibility — we teach the real stuff that keeps pets safe and loved, the kind that actually works in real life, not just on paper.

Real change happens when a community shifts together. When animals are treated as family, not afterthoughts. That starts with showing what’s possible, leading by example, and supporting people without judgment.

Spay & Neuter Campaigns

Coming together to make a difference

We organize big and small Spay & Neuter campaigns focusing on stray and abandoned animals living in the streets. Every week we hit the neighborhoods and commit to consistency and regular events.

These are long days. Hot sun. Dogs in and out of carriers. But every clinic is another dent in overpopulation — real impact.

Shelter + Daily Care

A place to rest, reset and recover

When we were evicted from Isla Mujeres, we decided to build a shelter in Cancun and live full-time with our rescues. Today that dream has become a reality and almost 500 dogs, cats, chickens, turkeys, ducks and turtles have found sanctuay, safety, love and the care they need within our walls.

The work is daily and repetitive: feeding, cleaning, treating, checking, adjusting. Some dogs move through quickly. Others need time.

Either way, care doesn’t stop when the day gets long!

Volunteer + Visitors Engagement

Help that matters

We’re open (by appointment) for volunteers and visitors who want to help, not just to look. If you show up willing to scoop poop, carry water, or play tug and enjoy the dogs loving on you — you’ll fit right in.

You can choose to come visit for a few hours or apply for a longer stay here at Oasis. In either case, your help, love and support is very much appreciated!
