Isla Animals has finally a home!!!!! Oasis is our new shelter, a place for the abandoned and stray animals, the unwanted, those without a voice… a place for them to recover, get healthy, and a place for them to wait till they make it to their forever home!
Since the local govt of Isla Mujeres decided to evict us (almost 2 years later the space is still empty and untouched), we tried but we could no longer afford housing our dogs in inadequate spaces that were too small, too exposed, and always too expensive.
Being 100% based on donations, we felt that it was a misuse of the funds our community so kindly donate to the animals in rent and bills. So we made a plan!
That’s how Isla Animals Oasis was born. As we have always done, we do continue working on Isla Mujeres (you can find our projects here)
